Helloooooo 2016! Ok so I'm only like, a week(ish) late on that. Things have been quiet around here for the past month or so...Ben took a significant amount of time off for the holidays, we traveled to see family for Christmas, and I've spent lots of time relaxing and making plans for my business and blog going forward! Sometimes it pays to take a break from the internet for awhile.
Anywaaays I'm currently booking design projects and photoshoots for 2016 and I'm super excited about it. In this blog post + the next one I'll be giving an overview of what working with me looks like.
The Photography Experience
So hiring a photog can be scary. Let's be honest, being photographed is kind of awkward for most people and you're paying someone a good chunk of money for a portrait session. But there are times in our lives when the iPhone just isn't going to cut it and you want professional portraits done. The biggest examples are weddings, engagements, seniors, or updated family photos. So how does it all work?
1 | You contact me: We have an initial chat, you give me details about what kind of shoot you want and when you think you want it.
2 | We decide on a date, time, and location: You can generally expect that we'll be shooting in the morning or late afternoon/evening depending on the time of year. We can both decide on the location or I can pick one based off of what you want.
3 | I send you a contract to sign and send back: They protect both of us!
On the day of the shoot, plan to show up at the agreed upon location a few minutes early so you can touch up your makeup (or round up your kids). Also, relax. I'm easy going, and won't be judging your outfit or hair and I won't be frustrated if your kids are crying. I WILL capture your beautiful self honestly (I don't do major retouching for weight, etc. - just minor blemishes), and I'm positive you'll be thrilled with your photos.
Being photographed doesn't have to be awkward! I'll do my best to make you feel comfortable and help you enjoy your time with me.
But don't just take it from me.
Lauren did one year anniversary pictures for us and they are my favorite pictures of my husband and I to date...Love her work!
Lauren has taken our engagement, wedding, first anniversary, and just because pictures over the past several years and we LOVE her work...Not only are her pictures top quality, but Lauren makes you feel super comfortable during the shoot offering suggestions to get the best out of your time with her. Her turnaround time for editing is super quick and we’ve had so many compliments on all of our photos. If you’re looking for a top-notch photographer, look no further!”
